Ms. Barran co-founded Barran González Clay in 2019 with Camila González with a vision to foster a deep sensitivity within the real estate industry towards the experience of fully embracing the places we choose to call home, Barran González Clay was born from its founder's passion and commitment to share her love for Uruguay—a country of unique beauty, safety, and stability, ideal for both investment and enjoyment. Ms. Barran leads investment activities and provides strategic leadership for the company by overseeing all operations, acquisitions, and new development projects for BGC. Ms. Barran is also responsible for daily operational management, including legal affairs, finance, and budgeting, ensuring compliance and excellence in all aspects of the business. Ms. Barran has over 12 years of investment legal advisory both local and foreign in addition to over 5 years of commercial real estate experience. She has a 360º knowledge in the industry being a lawyer specialized in corporate law with a specific focus on advising real estate companies  and family offices plus international architect firms. She is also a board director and manager of top leveled hospitality companies in Uruguay.  She founded BBG lawyers & Consultants in 2016 after working for 3 years at Guyer & Regules lawyer buffet. Sofi’s profound market knowledge, expertise in site selection, intuition for the business and passion for sustainability initiatives, contribute significantly to the firm's success. She holds a Master's degree in Law from University of Montevideo and a Diploma in Real Estate Development from ORT University.

Ms. Clay joined as Partner of Barran González Clay in March of 2023. Her relocation from Dallas, Texas to Montevideo, Uruguay and integration into the team exemplify BGC’s commitment to becoming a globally connected firm, investing in Uruguay as a burgeoning hub for real estate opportunities. Ms. Clay oversees the company’s day to day business activities and provides financial analysis and guidance during property acquisition and due diligence. Additionally, she manages renovation and ground-up development projects for BGC, and is responsible for promoting co-investment opportunities for both U.S. and local Uruguayan partners. Prior to joining Barran González Clay, Kelsey held Financial Analyst and Underwriter positions at Hall Structured Finance (HSF) in Dallas, Texas. Kelsey’s responsibilities at HSF included thorough due diligence, underwriting and financial analysis, with a specialized focus and expertise within the multifamily and hospitality sectors. Throughout her time at HALL, she assisted in closing over $681 million. Kelsey holds a BBA degree in Business from The University of Texas at Austin.

Ms. González co-founded Barran González Clay in 2019 with Sofia Barran with a vision to foster a deep sensitivity within the real estate industry towards the experience of fully embracing the places we choose to call home, Barran González Clay was born from its founder's passion and commitment to share her love for Uruguay—a country of unique beauty, safety, and stability, ideal for both investment and enjoyment.. Ms. Gonzalez directs BGC’s legal affairs and oversees its real estate transactions, contracts, leasing and sale agreements, regulatory compliance, and risk management. She provides analytical and legal support from site selection and design through construction and leasing and sales. In addition, she is responsible for overseeing operations, finance, and business development.

Camila González is a lawyer specialized in corporate, aeronautical, and real estate law. She worked for 7+ years at Guyer & Regules before co-founding BBG Lawyers & Consultants with Sofía and Bernardo Barran. Since then, she has been advising foreign investments in Uruguay, particularly of American origin. She represents aeronautical companies and real estate-related businesses, including developers and architectural studios. Camila holds a Master's degree in Law from University of Montevideo and a Diploma in Real Estate Development from ORT University.
